An experienced, ambitious, and confident Digital Communications Manager is needed to join a specialist team for a leading campaigning and lobbying organisation that actively combat the persecution of wild animals for ‘sport’ in the modern world. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive organisation where your primary focus is re-shaping the communications delivery to help achieve real legislative change that will protect animals forever.

The role will be remote, but it is expected you will attend the office in Godalming at least once a month and support campaigns activities when required.

This leading UK charity established in 1924 campaigns to stop cruelty to animals associated with sports such as hunting with dogs, game bird shooting, snaring, dog fighting and wildlife crime. It successfully uses criminal investigations, campaigning and lobbying to make a difference in the UK and around the world.

Working at the forefront of the charity, the Digital Communications Manager has a varied role which involves spearheading the development and execution of digitally driven integrated communication strategies in alignment with strategic objectives. This includes taking a creative lead in content production for various platforms and overseeing the social media officer to ensure comprehensive promotion of activities and events on social platforms. Additionally, the position entails the production and management of the charitys podcast, encompassing responsibilities such as content planning, scriptwriting, guest coordination, recording, editing, and effective promotion across relevant platforms. The ideal candidate should possess a strategic mindset, creative prowess, and leadership skills to maximise outreach to the target audience and stay at the forefront of digital communication trends.

To qualify… You should be a Digital Communications Manager / Public Relations Manager / Content & social media Officer or similar who can demonstrate:

  • Three years proven experience in a digital communications role
  • Ability to review and provide feedback on campaign performance, offering lessons-learned recommendations for future work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • The ability to sport trends and ensure the League is given every opportunity to be on the front foot in the digital communications sphere.
  • In depth knowledge of analytics tools for social media.
