Award Winning Biotechnology Company seeks an experienced Development Team Leader - Biologics.About The Role
The MS&T Team Leader is expected to coordinate and manage the design and execution of experimental upstream and downstream work packages to ensure the development of robust manufacturing processes suitable for cGMP manufacture following Quality by Design principles.
Duties May Include
- Manage a team of 4-6 Scientists to design and execute upstream and downstream process development experiments to optimise viral vector production.
- Supervise statistical experimental design (DOE) and the execution of upstream/downstream processes in the MS&T laboratories.
- Provide subject matter expertise to the analysis and evaluation of results.
- Generate and / or supervise the generation of detailed and accurate technical reports and process descriptions
- Act as subject matter expert during the technology transfer of processes to relevant CMO.
- Lead the generation of process risk assessments to facilitate technology transfer, process characterization and process validation as required.
- Keep up to date with current trends and innovation in viral vector manufacturing technology
- Provide training to other staff as necessary and appropriate.
- Write and review process development SOPs.
- Team Leader with experience in biologics manufacturing process development and scale-up, ideally within a GMP facility (viral vectors, monoclonal antibodies, or proteins)
- A good understanding of Quality by Design principles and Quality Risk Management tools.
- The ability to analyse complex data and generate structured and accurate technical reports.
- Applicants must also be Proficient with Microsoft software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and have a BSc or higher degree in biotechnology / bioprocess engineering or similar subject.
- Highly organised and a self-motivated team player and technically competent and capable of working independently in a laboratory.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and mentor others.
