Development Manager needed in Rochdale, £40 – £55ph – Reference: 0007 B274 / 1

We’re looking for a interim Development Manager to lead a team of development management officers including planning enforcement and conservation.

You’ll ideally have experience of management in local government and up to date knowledge of case law and procedures in DM.

Evening attendance at Planning Committee each month or as required.

Minimum of 2 days a week in the office

To lead the development management function in providing a customer focussed and integrated service through the effective management, performance, improvement, motivation and development of staff to meet the statutory and non statutory responsibilities relating to the management of development, and heritage assets, and the proper, timely and effective use of enforcement powers.
To ensure local and national performance targets are met, and service standards/quality procedures are maintained, reviewed and developed.
To give effect to the planning policies and corporate priorities through the development management process.


This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
