Our client has several exciting opportunities within our technical department for Development Managers & Development Engineers.

About The Department And The Role

The Technical Team are responsible for all product and process development/optimisation and product compliance.

The Development Engineers play a key and active role managing a wide range of projects, taking them from the development stage through to production and commercialisation. In the role you will be creating and developing new fabrics solutions for various applications, coordinating and monitoring development trials, optimising product performance and ensuring cost expectations and technical specifications are met. The ideal candidate(s) will undertake improvement activities and change management for optimisation and cost reduction.

A key aspect of the role provides the opportunity to visit customers, suppliers and attend industry exhibitions. You will be responsible for maintaining contact with suppliers regarding sourcing, specification and quality and will provide customers with technical support.

Essential

Skills, knowledge and experience required for this role:
  • Degree or equivalent level of education, preferably in Textiles or Science
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Programmes – especially Excel
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Able to work on own initiative.
Desirable
  • Experience of textile, automotive or rubber industry
  • Good standard of mathematical ability
  • Full driving license
  • Must be able to travel outside the UK.
