Amazon is seeking an experienced and business orientated Design Program Manager to manage the planning and execution of the EU Operations Design Program for the continued expansion of our European fulfillment network.
Ideal candidates will be natural self-starters with an established Project or Program Management foundation that possess high work capacity & agility, while being detail-orientated and data-driven with a talent for problem-solving and a positive can-do-attitude. In this role, the individual will understand all aspects of planning, design and deployment of an Amazon Fulfillment Center (FC) and co-ordinate the composite design deliverables. They will ensure integration of the Ops Design Team (ODT) planning with stakeholder planning and execution for FC build-out and new launch projects. The Design Program Manager is responsible for the program planning, resource management, tracking and realization of the program, working within a cross-functional team and essentially ensuring that ODT are supporting others in delivering new warehouses safely, on time, within budget and turnkey ready from day 1.

Responsibilities & Expectations
  • Own the integrated program scheduling and monitoring for the EU Operations Design Team
  • Manage progress visualization and reporting
  • Maintain risk and issue registers
  • Resource planning and forecasting for design, critical path analysis and schedule optimization
  • Work closely with the internal software team to specify workflow application development and roll-out
  • Facilitate program management meetings internally and with stakeholder groups
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple teams across design, execution, planning and technical partners to ensure timely elevation and resolution of potential risks and issues
  • Comfortable in different roles and able to effectively communicate & work with subject matter experts in Safety, Construction, Engineering, Real Estate, Procurement etc
  • Facilitate change management for operations design
  • Develop and manage the transmittals/RFI process for Ops Design Team

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Proven Project/Program Management experience in comparable industrial or design environments
  • Experience interacting with cross-functional teams & subject-matter experts
  • Professional working knowledge using Microsoft Office Applications, MS Project etc
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both native and English languages
  • Flexibility for business travels within Europe
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Project Management qualification (PMP, Prince2, or other)
  • Proficiency in additional European languages
  • Experience in process design/optimization
  • Experience working with Autodesk B360 and related software
  • Experience with MySQL and PowerBI platforms
