Design Manager

Job Responsibilities

System Design and Fulfilment: to drive and continuously improve our renewables system production processes to ensure bespoke design drawings, efficiency calculations, system fulfilments and bills of materials.

Process: to ensure compliance with the scheme is met whilst delivering the customer promise.

Quote and Design Software Systems (Ghyston and Filemaker): to ensure all systems are fully functional and that a continuous improvement plan is being followed based on feedback from customers and employees
  • To manage and onboard new products in liaison with the product development department
  • To simplify and systemise all business processes in order to deliver operational improvements but only where there is a benefit for - or no impact to - the customer
  • To ensure customer feedback relating to design and production is properly understood, tasks and initiatives are prioritised and smart objectives are delegated, owned and delivered and subsequent improvements are measured and reported.
  • To coach, mentor and support the department to achieve personal, team and organisational success and to identify and support individual areas for improvement in order to fulfil potential
  • Assume a leadership role across the business ensuring strategy and cultural development in line with our brand
Preferred Skills:
  • Motivational leader with a track record of developing others and driving performance within a technical engineering design environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills are essential
  • Understanding of building practices is important
  • Championing of customer service best practice is key
  • Must be highly motivated and energetic with an ability to operate in a dynamic work environment with changing priorities
  • Experience with production processes and lean continuous improvement is desirable
