A leading manufacturer and exporter of specialist equipment based in the UK. The company is seeking to recruit a qualified design engineer. The successful applicant will be responsible for creating new product designs from concept stage to production and testing of prototypes.

Commutable from: Hereford, Bromyard, Leominster, Worcester

Salary: £ 35,000 - £ 38,000 p.a. + Pension + International Travel

The Role

The Design Engineer will be responsible for the creation of new product designs from concept stage to production and support the development and testing of prototypes. You will support the specification and sourcing of materials and components and prepare technical drawings for manufacturing alongside the requisite technical manuals and documents.

The Design Engineer will support compliance of products to international standards including preparation of technical files to support CE compliance. The successful candidate will maintain a good awareness of the marketplace for related products and display a keen interest in competitor projects.

The Person

The Design Engineer will possess an engineering design background and in-depth knowledge of 3D CAD Design preferably SolidWorks. You will be competent in use of MS Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point.

The Design Engineer will have knowledge of manufacturing process, fabrication, and techniques and demonstrate experience of plastic injection moulding. Experience in electronics and electrical engineering is a distinct advantage alongside any level of exposure to aviation.

Ideally the successful applicant will be a degree level graduate in a relevant engineering discipline such as Mechanical or Agricultural engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Design, or similar engineering disciplines) with industry experience.
