Design Engineer required for a material testing manufacturer based in Hook.Design Engineer

Position OverviewProduce electro-mechanical 3D models and technical drawings for products under the guidance of the product manager.Produce 2D engineering drawings and BOMS from 3D ModelsGenerate and maintain all design related documentation. This includes generating design files and logging all relevant calculations, as well as compiling all documentation required for UKCA/CE approvalProvide complete design and information packs including electronic design to assist procurement, production and SSGMaintain existing design related documentation within the engineering systemArrange and take the lead in design concept and scope meetings where necessary to establish design parametersProvide support to the management of ECR/ECN’s process under the guidance of the Product ManagerDevelop and incorporate new A- designs into the existing product range under the guidance of the Product ManagerTake a leading role in identifying and suggesting improvements with existing product designs and seeking agreement from the Product Manager.Design Engineer

Position RequirementsTo have completed a mechanical engineering apprenticeship as a minimum.The ability to use Solidworks CAD package is essential.Good knowledge of machining operations, materials, finishing processes and fabrication.Possess an appreciation of electrical/electronic products.Some experience of design of high accuracy mechanical devices and components would be useful.Appreciation of tolerances for application requirements and economic manufacture.The ability to use Solidworks 3D package to an expert level is essential.Knowledge of BS8888 to produce engineering drawings is essential.Knowledge of mechanical design and engineering calculations.Ability to use AutoCAD / DraftSite would be beneficial.Good practical workshop skills.Good project and time management skillsKnowledge of pressure vessels and design codes, and CE approval documentation would be helpful.Design Engineer
