Design Engineer

• 
  Produce design and developments drawings, calculations and other documents to Company standards.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

• 
  Prepare design and development drawings, in CAD format (2D and 3D) parts lists and supporting documentation.

• 
  To accurately interpret customer specifications and communicate requirements to the Operations Department associated with the project.

• 
  The timely issuing and control of drawings and datapacks to Documentation Control, required to satisfy orders for engineered and standard products.

• 
  To assist in the smooth and efficient running of engineered projects, including interface with customers, sub-vendors, sales and manufacturing as required.

• 
  To assist in the introduction and development of drawing and engineering data management systems required to improve the efficiency and accuracy of design practices.

• 
  The recommendation of practices to improve the quality and efficiency of the department.

• 
  Maintain a flexible approach to work timetables to ensure expeditious scheduling necessary to achieve the Company requirements.

• 
  To assist Engineering Manager in duties as and when required in the best interests of the Company.

• 
  To attend onsite and offsite meetings with customers in the UK and oversees, whenever necessary, in support of the project.

• 
  To become competent in the production of design using a 3D Solid modelling system and in the use of Finite Element Analysis software.

• 
  To work within ISO 9001 Quality System and to observe Health, Safety and Environmental Regulations.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• 
  Engineering knowledge and experience in designing pressure vessels and related equipment
• Knowledge of ASME VIII, PD5500, EN13445 and ASME pipeline standards.
• IT awareness and application AutoCAD and Inventor.
• The job holder must possess an in-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering.
• Have a good understanding and some experience of engineering project delivery.
