Job description

The Design & Build Manager is responsible for the management of design-build project delivery for numerous construction projects in the North East of Scotland. The position includes responsibility for overall management of design-build pursuits and regional business development.

The role involves the front-end leading of Design & Build projects to ensure that projects are developed to meet the client’s aspirations in terms of budget, design and timescales. In particular the role involves aligning design and costs together to ensure that projects can deliver the margins expected by the business and ensuring that the company’s commercial position is protected. Accurate and competitive pricing of all projects will be required together with the obtaining of best value from the supply chain. Upon reaching an agreed Contract Sum a full Project Handover will be provided to the Post-Contract delivery team including details of commercial arrangements and projected margin.

It is expected that you shall have a construction-related Qualification to diploma or degree level (Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Business Management or equivalent) and have experience within the construction industry. You will ideally have construction contracts and tenders experience, client liaison experience, be able to deal with and negotiate with contractors / sub-contractors and suppliers, and previous supervisory experience.
