Our clint, a house builder based in Tonbridge, are seeking a Design Assistant to join their growing team. The most successful Design Assistant should come from a Design background and ideally have worked for an architectural practice, housebuilder or consultancy.

Knowledge of UK building regulations and other statutory responsibilities will be a key part for any individual wanting to apply to our client. A minimum of 1 years’ work experience will be required for this role, as our client needs someone to hit the ground running with minimal supervision. This offers the chance for the successful Design Assistant to work on an array of exciting residential projects. Our client is seeking a Design Assistant with excellent knowledge of the planning stages of a project.

Design Assistant Position Overview

  • To assist the Design & Planning Department in the preparation of architectural drawings and presentation material for both land purchase and planning applications
  • Managing the preparation of legal contract and conveyance plans
  • The candidate will be expected to work both independently and as a team in the preparation of high-quality plans and presentation material and be able to manage and programme their time to deliver the tasks in hand
  • Produce housing types
  • Produce documentation
  • Update and amend drawings

Design Assistant Position Requirements

  • Background within construction/architecture
  • Good AutoCAD knowledge
  • Work both independently and as a team in the preparation of high-quality plans
  • Able to manage time to deliver tasks in hand
  • Live within a commutable distance of Tonbridge
  • Knowledge of the residential sector
  • Knowledge of building regulations
