We are currently seeking a Deputy Chief Medical Officer here at Wye Valley NHS Trust in Herefordshire.We have been on a rapid improvement journey, built on patient centred care, high levels of staff engagement and partnership working with health and social care colleagues. Our One Herefordshire Partnership approach is being seen as an exemplar and we are working with partners to make functional integration a reality. We have solid foundations on which to build the next phase of improvement to be a national leader in the delivery of truly integrated care and sustainable service delivery.This post has been established to provide support to the Chief Medical Officer and to deputise in their absence. You will have particular responsibility for clinical governance and job planning.The DCMO duties for this post is for 4 PA’s. The Trust will commit to increasing the offer to 10 PA’s by providing opportunities for clinical and supporting programmed activities at consultant level.Main duties of the jobThe trust has been successful in securing investment and we have three new state of the art wards on the Hereford County Hospital site dedicated to the care of frail patients, building has started on the new elective surgical hub and we are in the process of finalising plans for a new community diagnostic centre. We are also well on the way to introducing an extensive digital programme including EPR, electronic prescribing, shared care record across all partners and E-Rostering.About UsWye Valley NHS Trust is a member of an NHS Foundation Group with South Warwickshire NHS FT , the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust and Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.Located on the border with Wales in the shadow of the Black Mountains, we provide acute and community services across Herefordshire and into parts of Powys and run Hereford County Hospital and the community hospitals in Bromyard, Leominster and Ross-on-Wye.Worcestershire is our neighbouring county.   • Appropriate professional qualification and current registration with the GMC/GDC
  • Evidence of continued professional development
