Dental Nurse Trainer-

Role and Job Description

We are seeking an individual with recent and relevant experience of working within a clinical environment who can champion a great team ethos, education and upskilling within our Dental Nurse Team. The right candidate will based within Kent and able to manage their own schedule with practice visits as well as remote working.

The ideal candidate would have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must work as a team player, as well as independently, who can multitask effectively and work proactively, with the ability to use their own initiative to identify and solve problems.Experience of working in a Dental Setting is of preference.

The main aim of the DNT is to:

  • Drive clinical knowledge and upskilling for our Trainee Dental Nurses
  • Improve the efficiency for dentists doing their treatment
  • Enable TDNs to be efficient in helping manage the clinics and champion high clinical standards

Main Responsibilities:

Staff Welfare:

  • Understand the role of Dentist, Hygienist, Dental Nurse and Trainee Dental Nurse
  • Manage and maintain a successful learning experience for our Trainee Dental Nurses
  • Build relationships with Team and organise internal Team Building Events
  • Understand the boundaries of the above roles and develop personal progression plans for all trainees
  • Identify any employee issues surrounding health, welfare and wellbeing
  • Be resilient in the face of potentially difficult situations

Training & Development:

  • Be experienced in supporting a small team of people
  • To run a clinical Induction for all new joiners and ensure departmental training in place.
  • Ensure all Trainee Dental Nurses are assigned to a mentoring rota system
  • Be empathetic and sensitive to the needs of the business, Associates and Trainees
  • Monitor and record performance and attendance of all trainees and dental nurses
  • Ensure completion of mandatory e-learning, CPD and performance related admin tasks
  • Review trainee course/apprenticeship progression and set challenging targets based on achieved work and Clinical Team Feedback

Other:

  • Lead the nurses Daily huddle and champion proactive internal communications
  • Ensure adequate levels of stock is on site
  • Record and accurately maintain records of interactions/meetings with individuals
  • Maintain accurate employee files
  • Overview that accurate and up to date departmental systems in place

Compliance:

  • To ensure compliance with current legislation such as Fire, Health & Safety, CQC regulations, RIDDOR and COSHH.
  • Be familiar with CQC requirements and compliance.
  • Record keeping in line with GDPR and practice procedure.
  • Report any problems to the clinical lead / Clinical Services Manager as appropriate
  • Always adhere to dentist and site policies and procedures.
  • Share your knowledge and experience with team members and undertake any suitable training to enhance your job role.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £14.50-£16.00 per hour
