    We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Passenger Transport Unit (PTU) to lead and develop our successful bid to government to enhance our Demand Responsive Transport Service in the Pewsey Vale. This is an exciting opportunity in a service that makes a real difference to people’s lives across Wiltshire and is part of significant government investment in public transport.

    About The Role

    The PTU manages and procures contracts with a total annual value of around £25m delivering a range of passenger transport services across Wiltshire such as:
    • Transport for 8,000 pupils to mainstream schools
    • Transport for 1,400 pupils with special educational needs
    • Transport for social care purposes on behalf of both adult and children departments
    • Support the local bus network
    • Support and advice to community transport groups
    • Administration of the Council’s Concessionary Fares Scheme
    As the Project Manager you will be expected to ensure the scheme is introduced on time and as per the grant conditions. You will lead on the consultation with key stakeholders and ensure that a robust marketing and communications strategy is introduced. You will take a lead on updating the board with progress and ensure that all risks are identified using recognised project management techniques. This is a new position created to run this exciting five-year project demonstrating how demand responsive transport can be best utilised.

    The position is a fantastic opportunity for staff who already have an experience in a project management role and wish to further develop their skills & experience and take on more responsibility.

    About You

    Educated to degree level or with the equivalent skills and experience, you will have experience of working within a project management function, or demonstrate that your current or previous roles have such experience.

    You will have experience of stakeholder engagement and managing different aspects of a project concurrently.

    A communications and marketing background would be very beneficial to this position.

    Whilst a background in passenger transport would be ideal, there is no requirement for this and this can be learnt.
