Defence Analytics Consultant

Would you like to join a growing team of consultants at BAE Systems CORDA who combine consultancy and analytical skills to support our customers? We currently have a vacancy for a Defence Analytics Consultant at our site in Farnborough or Preston

At BAE Systems CORDA, we combine analytical capabilities with consultancy skills to support our customers across the defence, security and transport sectors, and internal business functions such as HR and Finance. We are seeking dynamic, analytically minded individuals to join our growing team of consultants as we build on our successes to increase our support to clients in Defence, Government and BAE Systems (for example, we recently secured the £350m ASTRID framework contract to deliver analysis across government through to at least 2025).

As a Defence Analytics Consultant you will be working within (and leading) customer-facing teams, applying a range of analytics tools and techniques to make a real difference to their business. You will be working with clients and stakeholders in the MOD, Front Line Commands, Dstl, DE&S, NATO and other parts of the defence industry.

In this role you will structure problems, identify insights and develop solutions to enable our customer’s to make strategic business decisions. In addition to delivering projects, you will support the winning of new opportunities and help develop the skills of others.

Your main responsibilities as a Defence Analytics Consultant will involve:

Leading and working within project teams to deliver process analysis and other modelling/analysis projects to time, cost and quality

Consulting with clients to understand and document current processes, identify process improvements and define future processes

Communicating and presenting findings to clients

Delivering written reports to customers

Ensuring that the appropriate technical assurance is applied to our analytical work to ensure that it is fit-for-purpose and meets the client’s needs

Building and maintaining relationships with both customers and stakeholders

Conducting and supporting business winning activities including customer engagement and proposal writing

Your Skills And Qualifications

Have a degree in numerate subject, or relevant experience to offset

Have experience of delivering analytical projects for Government or within the Defence industry

Have expertise in delivering analysis and consultancy projects using techniques such as wargaming

Have a strong track record of applying data analytics / data science techniques to a range of complex problems

Can lead small teams and deliver projects

You should be naturally inquisitive, with a passion for problem-solving. You should be able to work collaboratively in multi-organisational teams and can adapt to new challenges and environment. You should have great communication skills and an eye for detail.

Location: Our offices are based in Farnborough and Preston, but we operate flexible working arrangements
