DDAS Active Treatment Worker - Carmarthenshire

Location: Llanelli, covering Carmarthenshire. There will also be an expectation to travel to other areas of Dyfed.

Type: Full time

Hours: 37 hours per week. Weekend and evening work will be expected on a rota basis and around service users and delivery needs.

Salary: Starting at £22,805 per annum

Start: TBC

Duration: Permanent, in line with funding. Current funding has been agreed until 30th April 2023.

Barod’s DDAS Adult Drugs and Alcohol Service is seeking to recruit an Active Treatment Worker to join the team in Carmarthenshire. The post holder will engage service users in Dyfed’s substance misuse treatment system. The post holder will also deliver evidence-based and manualised brief interventions and semi-structured interventions both in group-work settings and on a one-to-one basis to substance users and concerned others. The post holder will also conduct high level assessments including risk assessments. The post holder will also deliver harm reduction initiatives including Needle and Syringe Programmes, Naloxone training, and Dried Blood Spot Testing Services. The post holder will engage service users and concerned others via open access provision. The post holder will also refer to the Single Point of Contact and staff it on a rota basis. The post holder will support referral to external Tier 3 and 4 substance misuse service providers.
