Job Purpose:

Our Inbound Process (Day Shift Warehouse) Supervisor is a key role working with our Day Shift Manager to ensure the smooth running of the day operation in our Depot where you will lead teams of Day Loaders, Sorters and Drivers in processing parcels delivered from client sites in to smaller geographic areas to be delivered to the final customer.

About the Role:

You’ll be joining our business as a key member of the Depot Management team. Working under the Inbound Process (Dayshift) Manager, you will support your Depot by providing strong man-management to all front-line staff on your shift.

You will supervise a mixed team of contracted and agency staff across our day shifts. The Day Shift is key to our business as it is when we process the growing returns part of our business as well as parcels collected from our network of Parcel Shops.

We need Professionals who can motivate, manage and where necessary discipline a diverse workforce to get the best out of them. You will also talent manage and develop your team so that as promotion and more senior roles become available you have the talent to build your team.

You will be responsible for motivating your staff, problem solving on a day to day basis and operationally.

Our Inbound Process Supervisor is for someone who understands how to motivate staff and can efficiently prioritise pressing needs, where there isn’t an obvious solution. Lateral and original thinking would be a benefit as would logistics experience but we are open to experience gained in other related fields. You must be able to work collaboratively and take the lead on projects amongst your peers.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of up to 30 direct reports providing leadership and direction for the shift
  • Develop and train reports and ensure SLA’s are hit for the day shift
  • Ensure compliance with all site HSES rules and regulations
  • Process BI and MI reports based on work output of Drivers and Loaders
  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables

Essential skills and experience required:

  • Management experience of leading and managing a team
  • Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment to tight deadlines
  • Experience of managing teams in a fast-paced logistics environment is a definite advantage
  • PC Literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office
  • An understanding of Transport regulations
  • Good communicator and able to liaise at all levels
  • Flexible approach to work to meet business requirements
