An exciting opportunity for a candidate with Data Quality experience has risen within the Performance and Informatics portfolio at UHCW.

The post-holder will work as part of the Data Quality team to ensure that patient related data held within the Trust is accurate, complete and high quality to enable reliable and robust reporting to support clinical and business processes and statutory information returns.

Key to the role will be using systems to identify data quality issues on the Trusts patient-based systems using a variety of tools and in collaboration with the services identify the root causes of the issues. Working with the services to develop solutions to the issues including the development of standard operating procedures and How to Guides.

An ideal candidate will be an expert in all aspects of data quality and patient data management ensuring knowledge and adherence to all relevant national policy and procedures. Monitor and report on performance and improvements until the data quality levels required are sustainably achieved.

Ensuring that information held on the Trust’s information systems is of the highest possible standard (accurate, consistent and timely) is crucial for legal, operational, clinical, patient safety and financial purposes. Assuring high-quality data for analysis is also vital to good decision-making in the organisation.

The Data Quality Senior Administrator will support the Data Quality Team to implement, monitor, investigate, validate and correct the quality of data on the Trust’s patient-based systems.

The post-holder will undertake data investigation, monitoring, validation and correction in a timely and structured manner as directed by the Data Quality & Assurance Manager.

This role will include data management issues associated with commissioning queries, Patient Demographic Service queries and support NHS number tracing.

  • To Keep up to date with all relevant national and local guidance, policy and procedures relating to data quality and patient data.
  • Validate and assess the standard of data held within the Trust, making corrections, advising findings, producing validation reports to highlight data errors and anomalies and proactively address these through relevant staff, offering advice as appropriate as directed by the Data Quality & Assurance.
  • Validate patients’ journeys ensuring the data quality is exceptional and accurate. Using the NHS Care Record Service to find and verify NHS numbers, addresses, postcodes, GPs for all active patients and update IPM.
  • Identify issues for quality improvement and liaise with the Data Quality & Assurance Manager regarding these. Attend and contribute to meetings as required.
  • Respond to adhoc data quality information requests, carrying out complex analysis and provision of data as requested by staff at all levels throughout the Trust and to appropriate external users ensuring understanding of data provided and advising of its appropriate use as needed.
  • Assist the Data Quality Lead and Data Quality & Assurance Manager in the development and delivery of data quality contextual training for Trust staff of all levels. Liaising with Specialty Groups on data quality issue ratification and identification of best practice, offering advice and guidance on resolving issues, implications and improvement of data.
