Responsibilities

We are looking for a Spark Data Engineer who will be responsible for building scalable data systems to support the live operations of our products, covering live telemetry pipelines, ETL processes, experimentation systems (A/B testing) and working with Data Scientists to implement production ML pipelines.
  • Develop and enhance data processing, orchestration and monitoring by leveraging Spark, Azure Data Factory and other Azure technologies.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Analytics teams to design and validate the capabilities of the data platform.
  • Provide technical support and usage guidance to the users of our platform’s services.
  • Work with third-party engineering partners to deliver projects.
  • Drive the creation and refinement of metrics, monitoring and alerting mechanisms to give us the visibility we need into our production services.
  • Design, implement and simplify our system for 24/7 availability.
Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • 2+ years’ working knowledge of SQL, Python and Spark.
  • 1+ years’ experience with a cloud platform (Azure/GCP/AWS).
  • Experience of using dev ops tools.
  • Experience with platform monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Experience of building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience with complex data structures (JSON).
DESIRABLE CHARACTERISTICS
  • Experience with Azure.
  • Experience with Spark Structured Streaming and Kafka/Event Hub.
  • Experience with Databricks.
  • Experience with Azure Data Explorer.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory.
  • History of working with external data providers.
  • Experience with deploying ML models.
