Oscar Technology have partnered with a world-renowned organisation who are looking to add a new data engineer to their team.
They are ideally looking for knowledge in GCP however full support and training is available on this therefore we can consider someone with experience in AWS or Azure as long as you experienced with an analogous data system. Also in their technology stack is Airflow / Big Query and more.
For this position we don’t need loads of experience and would really suit someone who is keen to learn some new things and progress within GCP.
As part of the role, you will get the opportunity to work closely with the Director of Data in their brand-new office space, that has just finished construction in Manchester, once a week.
The Role
This role will form a major part of our Data Strategy and Analytics department. In this role you will be responsible for expanding and optimising data and data pipeline architecture and ensuring that our teams have the data available to drive our clients’ business forward.
You will be using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to build rich databases, transforming and moulding data from a variety of sources as well as build data feeds and pipelines, ingesting data from a variety of sources and feeding Machine Learning Models.
This role also includes and elements of architecting, transformation and modernisation of data solutions, this role will have a large voice when it comes to building scalable systems for the business and what future pathways might look like.
We are looking for candidates who have a broad set of technology skills across Data Engineering but we are open to what they are / how they fit together. As long as you can put your mind and skills to a GCP system we want to hear from you. In this role you will get a lot of freedom and autonomy to deliver excellent Data Engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Construction of data feeds and pipelines / ETL processes.
- Building / Developer best in class, scalable Data Engineering solution in GCP.
- Data Ingestion, Conversions, Data Processing etc.
- Have an opinion on data strategy / architecture / technologies for the future
- Gather requirements from client teams and other stakeholders
- Aid in the growth of the GCP infrastructure
- Utilise and understand the data, working with the visualisation functions
- Support the back-end of our client dashboards and internal reporting structures.
Skills
- Experience as a Data Engineer in industry
- GCP is ideal but certainly not essential (we can consider AWS / Azure)
- Programming - Python
- Knowledge in Database Technologies - SQL / No-SQL etc.
