Summary
The Enterprise Design Authority, Technology (based within Digital Data & Technology) are currently looking to recruit NCA Grade 2 Architects with Technical, Data or Application specialisms, based in London, Bristol, Wakefield, Leicester, Warrington or Birmingham. The Enterprise Design Authority, Technology work across the Agency to develop and establish mechanisms for aligning the enterprise, technological solutions and technology architectures to the NCA’s strategic direction.
These roles will focus on the technical design elements of an exciting and challenging delivery of key operational capabilities within the NCA.

Job description
- Develop and assist in the review of ICT architecture and data designs, to ensure compliance with enterprise wide data standards, practices, and design patterns.
- Provide technical and data expertise leading on data technologies, ETL, data integration, data enrichment, and data modelling.
- Assist in the development of the future data architecture for the NCA.
- Support the design (or assurance) of the data aspects of solutions and applications, including data structures, databases, file systems, schemes and meta data.
- Ensure compliance with data architectures, standards, practices, making recommendations to higher design authorities as needed.
- Participate in workshops and similar consultations with users and others to identify user needs and how users consume and categorise content.
- Help to establish and embed standards for data quality and its measurement.
- Look across the agency and externally to identify and learn from data and information architecture developments and trends.
- Support the creation and maintenance of the corporate data model, ensuring it aligns with the business needs, HMG strategies, policies, and standards.
***To meet the National Security Vetting requirements for this role you will need to have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 out of the past 5 years. To be considered, you will need to successfully complete an SC Enhanced clearance before commencing the role, with the ability to obtain a DV clearance within the first 12 months in post. Responsibilities
To be successful in this role you will have a broad data architecture background combined with areas of knowledge on technologies and practices, a good understanding of architecture domains, and stakeholder engagement skills.Further details of the essential Broad and Specialist Architecture Experience criteria within the candidate pack and housed under ’Technical criteria’ below.

- Broad Experience: experience and broad up-to-date knowledge of IT capabilities and services such as cloud computing, end user computing, on-premise hosting, mobility solutions, management infrastructure and cross-domain solutions
- Broad Experience: experience of developing design artifacts and associated materials under an architecture framework e.g. TOGAF
- Broad Experience: demonstrable experience working in a variety of environments, with a mix of on-premise and cloud based technologies
- Specialist Experience: your practical experience of data architecture and design as applied to data exploitation and analytics capabilities.
