DAPRODUSTAT AND NEW PRODUCTS COMMERCIAL LEAD – EUROPE

The Daprodustat and New Products Commercial Lead is a critical role, in Europe you will be responsible for both working with GSK local operating companies(LOC’s) and the global team; maximising the commercial opportunity for Daprodustat through ensuring the development and execution of best in class launch plans for key European markets.

You will play an integral role in supporting the in-country teams as they work through local market dynamics and develop there goto market customer plans and strategies. Whilst the primary focus of the role is Daprodustat, you will also be responsible for leading the commercial input for Europe into the full portfolio of future medicines within the Speciality pipeline for GSK; supporting the senior leadership team at key milestone decisions in the product lifecycle.

Background

Approximately 1 in 10 patients worldwide are affected by chronic kidney disease (CKD), many of whom experience the complication of anaemia which currently leaves them with symptoms that can reduce quality of life and increase risk of cardiovascular disease, hospitalisation and mortality.

We now need to start accelerating our commercial launch planning preparations in Europe, with a view to bringing this transformational medicine to patients and health care professionals.

This is a tremendously exciting time in GSK with over 20 vaccines and 42 medicines in our pipeline.

This Will Be Done By

Acting as a strategic thought partner in the area of Chronic Kidney Disease to Country Commercial Heads, GM’s & Region Head Define and lead Pan-European initiatives to unlock growth potential for Daprodustat Lead communities of practice across Europe to facilitate rapid exchange and execution of ideas Partner with cross-functional Eu regional teams (eg medical, market access, supply-chain…) to successfully commercialise Daprodustat Navigate interface with markets and global teams, ensuring European needs are met as the global strategy is developed Diagnose performance gaps and opportunities to close Quality and timely insights supporting Eu President partnering with global and local teams into speciality pipeline opportunities

Your Responsibilities
  • Support and challenge LOC’s/Europe Region in developing robust fit-for-purpose plans and customer strategy. Identify gaps and opportunities leading to tangible impact in our performance and ambition.
  • Amplify and represent the “Voice of the Customer”, customer/market insights and emerging trends earlier and louder into decision making to ensure we stay ahead of the competitive landscape
  • Support LOC’s/Europe Region to identify relevant learnings from other LOCs, partner with global teams to ensure appropriate forums are in place for sharing with specific focus on key markets
  • Ensure integrated performance plans are in place across identified markets and agree on concrete LOC/Europe Region and Global action plans, milestones and KPIs to support long-term success of prioritized strategic initiatives
  • Connect and troubleshoot. Build strong networks across Global teams, LOC/Region level to connect, involve and facilitate partnership.
  • . Provide guidance and deploy operational support to LOCs for markets, including optimizing local pricing strategy with market access team.
  • Represent LOCs/P&L, providing fact-based insights on market trends, upsides and downsides. Accountable for transparency of upside/downside scenarios and to verify budget
  • Partner with global teams developing understanding and knowledge of the evolving pipeline within specialty to a level where European commercial input can be provided into key governance reviews
  • Support and drive capability building
    • Support Region leadership, Specialty Business Unit Heads and GM’s to identify gaps, needs and strategies within the marketing mix

Basic Qualifications
  • Master’s degree and 8+ years of commercial biotech/pharmaceutical experience
OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of commercial biotech/pharmaceutical experience
Required
  • Extensive commercial experience across Europe leading teams in the Chronic Kidney Disease/Anaemia related to CKD therapy area
  • Regional/Above country experience in this space
Job Related Experience
  • Demonstrated success in creating marketing strategies, plans and tactics, particularly for biologic or specialty products
  • Ability to influence and inspire teams
  • Experience working on a product launch
  • Proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Experience in immunology or other specialty therapy areas
  • Strong track record and experience in LOC’s and above-country commercial roles; and demonstrated success in leading projects to successful outcomes.
  • Ability to listen to customers (patients, payers, providers) and our LOCs to extract insights and drive decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to iterate between high-level strategic perspective and detailed operational implementation elements.
  • Recognized leadership skills in direct and matrix environments, and ability to engage and align different parts of the organization towards efficient decision making, putting their accountability on the line when necessary.
  • Demonstrated excellence in effective communications, influencing, and negotiation for a wide variety of audiences
  • Strong customer and patient orientations and focus
  • Experience working with and managing external marketing agencies

  • Experience in a global, regional or country-level commercial function (major EU5 experience would be beneficial)
