Kirklees College is a large successful FE college, currently Ofsted graded as Good. Operating across Kirklees with centres based in Huddersfield and Dewsbury.

Hours: 17.5hrs a week, 40 weeks a year

We are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills to be a receptionist for our student lead Salons in our brand new Pioneer Higher Skills Centre in Dewsbury. This post is 5 days a week, 17.5 hours to fit around the school day and is 40 weeks of the year term time only.

Pioneer Higher Skills centre opened to students in November 2020 and is our newest centre. Our hair, barbering and beauty students all work in salons that are open to the public. We are looking for a receptionist to look after users of the salon. The role will include taking bookings, meet and greet, performing skin tests, ensure the salon reception area is neat and tidy and fully stocked with merchandise and taking payments. The ability to deliver high levels of customer service is crucial. In addition this role will provide support to the wider Customer Service team providing reception and counter support when required at one of our receptions and supporting the enrolment of students as required.

The qualifications deemed essential for the post are a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths at grade A*-C) and a customer service / business admin based qualification. People without the qualifications but with proven experience in an appropriate setting will be considered. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is also essential for the post.
