A very well established and successful agricultural business, part of a £70m turnover Group of companies, is recruiting a customer order administrator to join the company. This part of the company is a very high end butcher, supplying a number of well known restaurants and pubs and also has a successful farm shop open to the public. The office is around 20 minutes drive from Thatcham/Newbury.

Ideal hours are 7am to 4pm, but there is some flexibility to potentially amend/extend these.

The Role
This job is working as part of a small team of 4 in the office doing a wide variety of administration tasks. These are some of the tasks:

  • Receive customer orders by email and phone, and input these
  • Check stock levels to advise customers on availability and discuss issues with production
  • Work with the factory team in the processing of orders on the ordering system and then transferring them when complete into the accounting software
  • Creating invoices and sending them to customers
  • After care, updating customers on any delays and checking customers are happy
  • Helping the coffee shop and farm shop with some reconciliations and cash counting tasks
  • Lots of bits of other admin – this is a great job that you will make your own

The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role you will need to be happy working in an office in an agricultural setting rather than a corporate type office. The other essential requirement is having the right ‘attitude’. It’s a small team in a family run company so you really do have to care about what you do - everybody who works for the company is really passionate about the company. Being keen to learn and grow with the organisation over time will be encouraged. Core skills are an ability to think dynamically, and be flexible to consider lots of variables when doing the job – full training is given, but you will need the type of brain that can cope with constantly changing demands. You’ll also need to be down to earth enough to be happy getting your head into the data entry/process type tasks. Due to location, you will also need to own a car as public transport links are poor.
