EORI UK Limited has been formed to deliver critical projects to ensure smooth trade between U.K and EU post Brexit.
The EORI team includes certified process advisors to HMRC, Members of Parliament, InterTradeIreland and Enterprise Ireland clients along with some of the leading retail and logistics brands in the UK and Europe.
You will be responsible for ensuring customs declarations are completed on time and in full to allow goods to move. EORI UK Limited will ensure that relevant training is given to enable you to carry out your duties.
The Role Of a Customs Clerk
You will be working within a modern office environment located at the Worksop Turbine Business Centre with a smart casual dress code. The working environment is very friendly and relaxed but attentive to the role duties as well. In the role you will be responsible for:
- Preparation and completion of customs entries for import and export
- Dealing with haulage’s on a daily basis
- Accurate data entry
- Respond to customs queries, including commodity codes, duty rates, licences and documentation.
- Maintain alignment with current and changing legislations and procedures
- Ensure compliance at all times
- Using various different computer programmes
- Opportunities to progress to managerial positions
- One of our candidates now works for the company on a permanent basis in a managerial position and is now Essential’s main point of contact
- Pay progression based on performance and wage increases for management positons
- There is the opportunity to gain a permanent contract, we have had around 40 candidates now go permanent since September 2020
- Ongoing training to keep developing within the role
- £10.00 per hour
- Various positions available:
- 4 on 4 off shift rotation – 7am-7pm for 2 shifts / 7pm-7pm for 2 shifts
- Monday to Friday Days: 8am-4.30pm / 1.30pm-10pm on rotation plus working 1 in 4 Saturdays
- Days and Afters on rotation: 7am-3.30pm, 2.30pm-11pm on a weekly rotation plus working 1 in 4 Saturdays
- Free parking
- Onsite café
- Kitchens with equipment like kettles, microwaves & toasters
- The ability to communicate effectively with a professional manner
- Attention to detail
- Customs or logistics knowledge would be highly advantageous
- Ideally have a Transport admin/ logistics/ supply chain background
- Strong PC skills including Office 365 packages.
- Ensure company procedures are followed to ensure that there is no financial loss to the company or third parties
