Due to internal progression, we are looking for an experienced and engaging Curriculum Team Leader to join our Construction & Engineering department specialising in Motor Vehicles.

Reporting to the Curriculum Area Manager, the Curriculum Team Leader will ensure the curriculum meets the needs of learners, business and the community and that learners receive a high-quality learner experience. You will provide inspirational leadership for staff and students

This is a key role in the development and management of the College’s curriculum areas. Curriculum Team Leaders are responsible for all operational matters in the linked areas of curriculum that are assigned to them

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for managing the performance of apprenticeships in the curriculum areas, specifically in the areas of student enrolment, retention and achievement targets; quality of teaching and learning; observations, appraisal and staff development; student satisfaction and equality and diversity targets.
  • Ensuring appropriate records, registers, staff and student timetables are maintained and available as required by internal management information systems and external audit regimes.
  • Ensuring that systems are in place to ensure that effective Initial Advice and Guidance takes place and that all programme MIS data is interrogated to support the achievement of intended outcomes.
  • Responsibility for the overall management of the curriculum team.
  • Ensuring effective management of the curriculums’ physical resources.
  • Maintaining a safe and secure learning environment by ensuring regular risk assessments are undertaken.
  • Contributing to the collegial culture, mission and strategic objectives and to work with colleagues in other curriculum and service areas across the College.
  • Supporting the Curriculum Area Manager in the planning, innovation, design and development of curriculum programmes and cross College marketing activities.
  • Promoting excellent teaching and effective learning across the curriculum area, and to disseminate and share good practice across the College.
  • To be compliant with the College’s quality assurance processes.

Education & Training

  • L3 Engineering Qualification
  • L4 or higher Teaching Qualification
  • GCSE 5 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths or be prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale
  • GCSE 5 - 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English or be prepared to pass a test prior to interview to demonstrate level 2 ability and then if appointed achieve within an agreed timescale

Experience

  • Experience of managing curriculum delivery within Further Education
  • Experience of course development and recruitment
  • Experience of student pastoral care and disciplinary procedures.
  • Experience of the interpretation of data sets to inform and enable performance management.
