This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Curriculum Manager (Programme Area Leader) to manage a team of Professional Trainers and join a long established and developing construction training organisation, MKC Training, based at The Royal School of Military Engineering in Chatham, Kent, where military students are taught construction and engineering skills.

You will have strong communication skills, be able to develop and manage others, and be prepared to extend your own skills and knowledge.

You will demonstrate the aptitude and ability to develop and refine training systems and courses to bespoke requirements and to effectively manage equipment and resources.

Job Purpose. To Support The Faculty Manager
  • by managing and leading the Programme Area to deliver training and improve outputs and key performance indicators.
  • in the operational running of the programme area, leading the strategic development of the area and taking responsibility for the Performance Development Reviews (PDR) of staff in their area.
  • Delivering teaching within the Programme Area as required (this may include elements of Maths at Level 2, English, Basic IT / Microsoft packages etc).
  • Engaging in continual improvement activities aimed at developing the quality and content of the training and training materials relevant to course programmes.

Essential Qualifications And Experience
  • Teaching qualification
  • Assessment Qualification (A1 or equivalent - to be gained in post, as applicable)
  • Quality Assurance Qualification (V1 or equivalent - to be gained in post, as applicable)
  • Management of small teams - Line Management experience
  • Experience in mentoring new staff
  • Ability to motivate and encourage students
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience in course tutoring / delivering training, mentoring and coaching
  • Knowledge & experience of quality assurance & improvement
  • Ability to promote safeguarding and welfare of young people that you are responsible for, or come into contact with.

Desirable Experience
  • Experience in course and assessment development
  • Knowledge & experience of e-learning and e-assessment tools
  • An understanding of the Survey profession would be highly desirable but not essential
