Curriculum Head – Animal Management SH1677

Salary: £39,911 - £44,379 + excellent benefits

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

Location: Paignton, Devon

Do you have excellent leadership skills? We are looking for someone to provide curriculum leadership which will ensure that the evidence informed teaching strategies maximise learning opportunities, assessment and learner progress and lead to Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ grade.

The post holder will oversee the management of the Programme Coordinator, lecturers and Animal Unit staff and the day-to-day operations of the section and ensure the effective delivery of a high quality learning experience of students. Undertake teaching responsibilities commensurate with the requirements of the post in a way which demonstrates the high standards expected of colleagues.

The postholder will be a member of the College Leadership Team (CLT).

The Section offers Study Programmes for Young People in Animal Care and Animal Management from Level 1 to Level 3. Courses are also delivered to 14 to 16 year olds in the High School and Home Educated groups. The Section has a highly successful Higher Education offer with Foundation Degree and full BSc in Animal Science in partnership with Plymouth University. The Section has well equipped and thriving Animal Unit with a wide range of mammals, poultry and exotics.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant degree or equivalent with industry experience, have QTLS status or be working towards and have relevant subject knowledge. Previous experience delivering a high quality curriculum and implementing policies and procedures to ensure outstanding performance is essential.
