Providence St. Joseph is calling a Credit Refund Clerk (Full-Time, Days) to our location in Lubbock, TX.

We are seeking a Credit Refund Clerk who will be responsible for making payment posting corrections, posting refunds and adjustments, and working with third-party payors to resolve credit issues. This individual is responsible for researching potential credit balances and validating overpayments per the contractual agreement or fee schedule. In addition, the Credit Analyst is responsible for escalating credits to PFS management for sign-off in accordance with SJHS refunds policies.

In This Position You Will
  • Research credit balances on patient accounts, make posting corrections, post refund in system, and work with third-party payors on the refund process and to resolve credit issues.
  • Responsible for researching potential credit balances and validating overpayments per the contractual agreement or fee schedule.
  • Manage credit balance/refund work lists to department standards and performance expectations.
  • Maintain appropriate account notation and timely and accurate documentation in the revenue cycle system.
  • Daily focus on complying with policies, processes, and department guidelines for credit balance processing.
  • Escalate accounts to PFS Management for refund sign-off in accordance with SJHS credit management policies.
  • Identify trends in payment posting and/or payment errors and communicate findings to management team.
  • Participate in department audits as needed.

Qualifications

Required qualifications for this position include:
  • Experience in medical management computer applications
  • 3 years Health care business office experience or related field

Preferred Qualifications For This Position Include
  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • 5 years Health care business office experience or related field including medical terminology
  • Credit management experience
