Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering exclusively with a leading, successful, and growing FMCG group in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire to recruit an experienced and hands-on Credit Controller. A varied sole Credit Control position with support from the finance team and wider business where you will manage the companies credit risk and be responsible for all credit control processes/policies, debt collection, credit insurance, new accounts, and sales ledger administration. Reporting directly into the Group Finance Manager, this is a great opportunity to really add value in an expanding organisation experiencing strong success in the market.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve managing the new accounts process including customer set up, credit checking and setting of the appropriate credit limits. You will undertake the appropriate, proactive, and reactive credit control activity via phone and email, reduce debtor days, manage debt within credit terms and ensure payments terms are on the system. You will support sales ledger administration, ensure credit are raised promptly, and resolve any related credit queries. You will put accounts “on hold” after agreed times/amounts if necessary, communicate daily/weekly/monthly credit reporting to senior stakeholders, and be involved in weekly/monthly cashflow forecasting across multiple currencies. You will manage the company’s credit insurance process, pass to legal debts that need to be escalated, and be involved in various credit projects as the group growths further.

What you’ll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on and permanent Credit Control position you will need experience within a similar role, strong communication skills to build relationships with customers and internal teams, strong attention to detail and well organised to be able to achieve results. You will self-motivated, used to managing workloads and be a team player with tenacity, with key analytical skills. You will be trained in a range of Credit/Financial systems with key MS Excel skills. Experience within SAP financial system, FMCG sectors and SME’s would be advantageous but not essential.

What you’ll get in return

This permanent and varied Credit Control position is offering a salary between £28,000 - £34,000 per annum, dependable on experience based in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire. Reporting directly into the Group Finance Manager, this is an exciting opportunity as the sole Credit Controller for the Group, managing all related Credit processes as the business experiences continued success in the market.
