A well-established business, with a head office based in Telford, are seeking to hire a credit controller to take ownership of the business’s accounts receivable function. Working in a small and friendly finance team, in lovely modern offices in Telford, based close to local amenities.

This is a full-time role to start as soon as possible, ideally before Christmas if possible. The role is supported by a credit control assistant who works part time. You will be taking ownership of end-to-end credit control for five businesses

You will be:

• Monitoring debtor balances to ensure a reduction in debtors/DSO
• Applying and allocating bank payments
• Reconciling complex accounts that have been escalated
• Oversee the importing of invoices and reconciling of sales figures from multiple platforms
• Processing from and working with multiple companies
• Following credit/collections policies
• Liaising with customers, as well as internal personnel; responding to client queries promptly, acting with professionalism
• Raising and issuing invoices where required

We are looking to engage an experienced credit controller who is a confident communicator. You should have effective negotiation skills, and the ability to liaise competently with stakeholders at all levels. You will have a diverse and busy workload, so the ability to remain confident under pressure. Strong Excel skills to include Vlookups are essential along with numerical proficiency, it would be desirable if you have experience of working with factoring companies but this is not a prerequisite.
