With our community work spanning more than three decades, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust has established itself as a pioneering organisation for the local community. It uses the power of sport to educate, motivate and inspire people from all backgrounds.

Working in partnership with Brentford FC, the Trust offers a portfolio of programmes in education, employability, sports participation, health and community engagement. We have won the ‘Football League Community Club of the Year’ award four times and have cemented our reputation as a community-led Football Club.

In 2018, we joined the European Football for Development Network and aligned our strategy with the UN’s sustainable development goals, which demonstrates our local impact at a global level.

This is an exciting time for the Trust, with new and expanded football, multi-sport and community focused programmes now being delivered in the new Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub.

The Role of Creative Lead

The successful candidate will be part of the Trust’s Marketing and Communications department, working closely with the Head of Marketing and Partnerships, Communications Manager, Marketing Manager and Content Creator, will have a vital role in setting the brand identity for Brentford FC CST as we launch new activities and community programmes at our new Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub and new offices adjacent to GTech Community Stadium, the Community Stadium Hub offices.

The role will suit someone with experience of creating imagery for print, digital and social media, setting a brand identity and working to very short deadlines. The candidate will have technical knowledge Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

A candidate with experience of working within sport, will be at an advantage.

Main Accountabilities

  • To produce editorial and community programmes assets for both online and off-line materials
  • To design campaign assets across a broad range of channel applications keeping true to the brand and the campaign and promotions concepts including online banners, leaflets, screen adverts, animated GIFs and HTML5 assets
  • To assist in the production of graphics for the Trust’s online channels. This will include creating bespoke assets from scratch to demonstrate the goals and values of Brentford FC and amending imagery where appropriate to engage with Trust’s participants
  • To play a vital role in coordinating the Trust’s social media content, working closely with the Head of Marketing and Partnerships, Marketing Manager, Communications Manager and the Content Creator
  • To develop design solutions for non-campaign collateral including: social media graphics, website images, programme pages, video animations, stationery, signage & venue branding, event displays, newsletters,
  • To ensure all executions are consistent & conform to brand guidelines

General Trust’s Accountabilities

  • To ensure compliance with all relevant Trust’s policies, including health and safety policies
  • To ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements
  • To build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally, maintaining a professional image at all times when representing Brentford FC Community Sports Trust and Brentford Football Club
  • To keep confidential any information gained regarding the Trust, the Club and its personnel
  • To maintain a flexible approach to work at all times

Key Internal Relationships

  • Marketing and Communications Department
  • Liaise with all Trust’s departments when required

Person Specification - Essential Personal Characteristics:

  • Educated to at least A-Level or equivalent with a minimum of a grade B at English language GCSE or equivalent
  • Qualification in Graphic Design or Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign or Photoshop)
  • Excellence in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign or Photoshop)
  • Experience in designing assets for email marketing campaigns and social media paid ads
  • The ability to work as part of a large and small team but also alone on projects when needed
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Competent in IT with knowledge in Word, Excel and Outlook as a minimum
  • Full knowledge and use of a wide range of social media and how graphics can be used to engage and grow an audience
  • Understanding of themes and the news agenda in sport, particularly football and sports for development


Person Specification - Desirable Characteristics:

  • Demonstrable skills in after-effects
  • Knowledge and experience of working with motion graphics
  • Experience of shooting still and moving pictures across a range of devices would be an advantage
  • Preparedness for working in Trust’s events and fundraising initiatives, which may include weekends

Location

The role will be office based with 1 optional day working from home.

Salary

28-30.000 p/annum. Benefits include: 20 days holiday including all statutory public and bank holidays, Life Assurance of 2x basic salary, Pension Scheme, and access to an Employee Assistance Programme
