The school based in Waterlooville a secondary school and serves

the local community of 11-16 year olds. The school is considered to

be a ’good’ school with ‘excellent’ leadership and management.

Students are very well behaved and take pride in their school and

education. The school are seeking to employ a dynamic, highly

motivated and enthusiastic bank cover supervisor to join their

support team to supervise classes during the short-term absence of

a class teacher.

The role would be well suited to an individual who has previous

experience of working with young people within an education or

similar capacity. It would also be a fantastic opportunity for

someone who wishes to gain more experience before starting on their

initial teacher training. The opportunity is a great one for

development offering to support your continual professional

development and wellbeing. It also has an excellent record of

training teachers.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the

classroom in the usual teacher’s absence. The usual class teacher

will provide all the materials and tools needed for the lesson

ready for the you to deliver. As a bank member of staff, you will

be called upon on an ad hoc basis to cover as and when needs

arise.

The Successful Candidate Will
  • Be professional and personable
  • Be punctual, reliable and adaptable
  • Enjoy working with young people and able to build rapport with
all types of learners
  • Have a firm but sympathetic manner, with a good sense of
humour;
  • Have a good standard of education (to NVQ 2/GCSE and preferably
A’ Level standard) and sound literacy and numeracy skills;
  • Be willing to undertake training and develop their skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory

holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some

cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available

at a later date.
