The Mishcon Impact Team.
The Impact Team sits within the Business Development department.
The Impact Team is a central function currently comprising, of three professionals: a Pro bono Manager, a Community Engagement Manager and an Impact Manager. It is responsible for delivering on the Firm’s Impact Strategy and for running the following activities:
- Pro Bono
- Volunteering
- Giving
It is also responsible for supporting and ensuring the recording of the impact achieved through:
- Purpose-led paid for work
- Business Operations
The Impact Team works across all business units, and supports every member of the Firm with any Impact related initiatives.
The role.
This role will sit centrally within the Impact Team, reporting to Alexander Rhodes. On a day-to-day basis, the Impact Apprentice will work closely with the Impact Team, and the Health and Safety and Environment Manager.
It will involve working on the delivery of our Pro bono, Volunteering and Giving strands. It will also involve working on projects to enhance our data capture, management and monitoring of Impact across all parts of the Firm. It will provide opportunities to work with business leaders throughout the Firm, as well as MdR Group companies.
The successful candidate will be passionate about sustainability and the role that people and business can play in making a difference. This is a people-focussed role, and requires someone who likes meeting and working with new people. They will need to engage and enthuse people with the mission. The role involves embedding the Firm’s commitment to having positive social and environmental impact through everything it does. Candidates will have to be organised, outcomes focussed and proficient at handling data.
This is an exciting time to be joining the Impact Team, following the launch of the Firm’s Impact strategy and Climate Change Strategy in January 2021.
Duties and Responsibilities.
We are seeking a can-do, passionate and delivery focussed candidate, to join the Impact Team. Their role will be to assist each member of the team, under the ultimate supervision of Alexander Rhodes, with the delivery of the Firm’s Impact Strategy.
This will involve:
- Working with each team member on delivery of their area of responsibility
- Assisting with the pulling together, monitoring and reporting of positive impact
- Working with the businesses’ Impact Chairs on projects to deliver:
- Increased Access to Law
- Creating Opportunity
- Increasing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the Legal Profession
- Making sustainability a Reality
- Supporting individuals across the Firm with achieving positive impact
- Drafting articles and internal communications
- Management of Team meetings, minutes and agendas
- Preparation of reports and presentations

Desired qualifications
- 6 GCSEs including Maths, English, ICT at Grade C / 4 (or the equivalent)
- 3 A-Levels at grade A*-C or equivalent
Future prospects
This programme is a 3 year fixed term contract. Whilst not guaranteed, we hope to be able to offer our apprentices further opportunities at the end of their apprenticeship programmes.
