Are you a skilled Paralegal/Legal Assistant looking for an exciting opportunity? We’re actively searching for a dynamic individual to become an integral part of our partner law firm, specifically in their thriving conveyancing department.

Position: Full-Time Paralegal/Legal Assistant

Location: Winchester, Hampshire

Salary Range: £24,500-£26,000

About the Role:

As a crucial member of our team, you will collaborate with experienced solicitors, overseeing various tasks to ensure the seamless operation of residential conveyancing processes. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leveraging computerized case management systems for online conveyancing tasks.
  • Dispatching terms of engagement and estimates of fees and disbursements.
  • Validating Land Registry documents and Title Deeds.
  • Drafting or reviewing sales contracts, negotiating terms with counterpart conveyancers.
  • Managing legal and financial documents to support transactions.
  • Overseeing all financial aspects of transactions, including contract exchange and completion.
  • Securing landlord approval and managing rent and service charge apportionments for leasehold properties.

Your Responsibilities for Purchase Transactions:

  • Conducting and validating pre-contract searches to assess property conditions.
  • Verifying mortgage instructions and executing specific lender tasks.
  • Preparing transfer and mortgage deeds.
  • Managing stamp taxes and overseeing client and lender registration with the Land Registry and HMRC.
