To support our continued growth, we are looking for exceptional Control Room Operators to form part of our award-winning security team.

Based in our Head Office in Andover, the Control Room Operator is required to support day-to-day 24hr operations with administrative aspects of the business as well as being responsible for dispatching assets, and CCTV and operational monitoring. The Control Room Operator is responsible for management and upkeep of the operational software systems, assignment instructions and related communications to frontline teams, as well as liaising with clients to maintain current operational information and reporting. The Control Room Operator will ensure compliance with integrated management system process and procedures as well as industry standard requirements. The Control Room Operator will be professional, well organised, able to prioritise, communicate effectively, work efficiently under pressure and have the flexibility to balance a broad range of skills.

The role is control room based, covering out-of-office hours.

  • The role will be allocated a shift pattern, that will include night and weekend working (12 hour shifts). Some day working may be required.
  • Pay rate is starting from £11.50 per hour during training and probation. On successful completion of screening and training, the rate will increase to £12.00 per hour.

Duties:

  • Using a range of software including email, Microsoft Office applications and operational platforms to drive up-to-date information for frontline officers
  • Responding to and facilitating client and operational team enquiries
  • Supporting portfolio resource management for respective departments ensuring shift coverage in relation to short notice absence
  • Actioning calls from Alarm Receiving Centres (ARC) recording details and dispatching assets to respond
  • Making calls to operational officers for lateness/ sickness / missed check calls / welfare checks
  • Reviewing operational reporting for content, accuracy and completeness.
  • Approving and sending reports to customers
  • Actively review operational documentation to maintain current operational information
  • Managing and maintaining online and paper filing systems relating to client information
  • Supporting the Integrated Management System to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Data entry
  • Working independently and as part of a team
  • General support as required

Person Specification

  • Good communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills, including keyboard skills and legible handwriting
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent Including English at Grade ‘C’ or above
  • Experience of working within an office environment
  • Evidence of continuing professional development, and willing to undertake further appropriate training
  • Computer literate, and has a good knowledge of MS Windows and MS Office
  • Team player, but able to work on own initiative
  • Clean criminal record
