ResponsibilitiesContracts officerHybrid£31,895 - £34, 374 45p per mileFlexible working Your main duties and responsibilities as a Contracts Officer will includeA local housing organisation based in Shrewsbury is looking for a Contracts Officer to join their growing team, working closely with customers and stakeholders at 37 hours per week. You will assist with the development of planned and responsive maintenance to regenerate and develop the asset base.
  • Project manage a wide variety of refurbishment projects with effective liaison between relevant internal teams, consultants, contractors, planning authorities, statutory bodies and other stakeholders as necessary
  • Preparing briefs and appoint consultants to progress feasibility studies, detailed designs, cost and contract management, various surveys and construction related services
  • Supervise contractors on improvement works
  • Liaising/controlling/monitoring of appropriate internal and external consultants in accordance with agreed brief for planning and cyclical specifications Assist the Project Manager in the management of the legislative and compliance requirements
  • Carry out site surveys and review monitoring certificates and procedures
The ideal Contracts Officer will hold the following experience/qualifications:
  • Relevant professional qualification e.g. HND Building Surveying or Building Studies or similar
  • Understanding of Health and Safety requirements including CDM Regulations 20015
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of project management of large scale refurbishment projects with a proven track record of delivery
  • Understanding of Decent Homes Standards and HHSRS
  • Demonstrate understanding of issues relating to refurbishment
