Swindon Borough Council are looking to recruit a fixed term until the 31 March 2022, Contracts and Monitoring Officer to work within the Adult Commissioning Team. This role will also be open as an internal secondment opportunity. Before applying for a secondment it is essential for all employees to discuss their availability for release with their line manager before applying. Should permission not be forthcoming then they should refer the matter to their Head of Service.

The role will be working with Commissioners and Care Managers to manage, monitor and review the contracts within Adult Social Care to encourage a vibrant, cost efficient and flexible local care market place.

The key elements of the role will be to maintain an overview of the quality of the market, work with internal and external colleagues to address issues and concerns within contracts, manage the provider forums and carry out monitoring visits of regulated services in line with the Care Act.

We are looking for someone to fulfil this challenging role in ensuring positive working relationships with care and non-care providers to encourage positive working between them and the Authority whilst being able to support continual improvement in the quality being delivered. This role will require a flexible approach in order to manage a busy workload and prioritise work requiring an immediate response based on risk and need. A knowledge of providers or services would be an asset but an attention to detail and ability to maintain relationships will be the key skills required.

Candidates must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).

In return you will receive:

  • Flexible working
  • 25 days holiday (pro rata)
  • A career average revalued earnings (CARE) pension scheme
  • Leisure and Legal Services discounts
  • Eating Out, Shopping and Entertainment discounts

If you have any questions or would like to discuss any aspect of the role, please contact Elaine Turner, Commissioner Learning Disability Adults on 07842 439353.

If you are experiencing technical issues submitting your application please email resourcing@swindon.gov.uk
