In Southern Water, our customers are at the heart of everything we do. That’s why our Customer & Community team is such an important part of our business. We listen. We support. We educate. And we’re constantly thinking differently to find new ways to connect with people and provide them with the best possible experience, whether that’s helping our vulnerable customers, providing a seamless digital journey, or educating school children on how we’re preserving their local environment.
It is an exciting time to join us!

As a Contract and Supplier Management Specialist, you will be joining large Contract and Supplier Management team. Your focus is on service contracts, with the main disciplines being offshored services, facilities, fleet management, recruitment, consultancies, and customer-facing services contracts.

Your main responsibility is to lead the management of aggregated contracts and supplier relationships, apply best practice principles and develop strong supplier relationships to drive performance against contractual expectations, cost reductions and value maximisation for Southern Water.

You will also support delivery of the contract and supplier management strategies, drive adherence to the contract lifecycle management best practice framework, and support effective supplier relationship management with a focus on performance monitoring and management.

In addition, you will maintain engagement with business units and other Procurement teams, provide ongoing support for contracting activities as and when required to, ensure commercial value is created and protected throughout the contract lifecycle.

There is plenty of room to grow here at Southern Water supported by both formal and on the job training. An individual who understands commercial acumen, has an enquiring mind, a good approach to problem-solving and the ability to build and maintain relationships, would be the ideal candidate for this role.

Does this opportunity excite you but you’re not 100% sure if you meet all the requirements for the role? Or are you concerned that ’normal’ office hours aren’t possible given your personal circumstances? Whilst we can’t accommodate every flexible working request, we’ll try to find a practical solution. So why not engage with us and find out more about this role?

Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, because delivering water for life is our core purpose. To achieve this, we need 24/7 support in place to resolve incidents quickly and efficiently. All our employees understand the importance of out-of-hours incident support - because when problems appear, fixing them is our top priority. That’s why our people join together and support when and however needed to make sure our customers get the service they deserve. Joining the Southern Water family means you’ll become part of our incident support team. During your interview, your manager will speak to you about any incident support rotas that apply to your position.
