Contract Manager

Location: Plymouth

Business Area: Kier Places - Facilities Management - PFI

Contract: Permanent, full time - 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with one week in four out of hours cover on a rota for call outs.


Kier Places are recruiting now for a Contract Manager to join the Facilities Management team on a PFI venture, to be responsible for the delivery of the contract, working with the Senior Contract Manager to effectively manage relationships with the Client and other key stakeholders in line with performance and contractual measures.

This will include dealing with the day-to-day service delivery, client and key stakeholders management in line with contract and/or contract portfolio KPI’s and local performance indicators. You will plan, prioritise and delegate workloads to achieve contract objectives, as well as supporting the production, maintaining the contract sectional plan and Key Work Objectives. It will be up to you to ensure all costs are monitored and contract operates within agreed budget. You will be the first point of contact for the client and on-site team, responsible for day-to-day operational performance of the contracts including statutory compliance, ensuring processes and procedures comply with SLAs and KPIs. As well as managing financial performance of the contracts, ensuring compliance with the budgets, P&Ls and lifecycle plans, as well as undertaking audits.

Key Responsibilities

As a Contract Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and prioritise workload to achieve service delivery in line with contract KPI/SLA’s
  • Attend monthly financial contract review meetings
  • Responsible for financial performance of contract/s and maximise margin
  • To be responsible for the invoicing and payment process
  • Development of strategies to fully maximise the benefits available from the utilisation of directly employed and subcontractors
  • Attendance at monthly meetings with both senior management and client
  • Ensure all monthly reports and forms are completed and forwarded to appropriate departments and clients
  • Responsible for developing client relationships to ensure retention of contract and future opportunities

What do we need from you?

We want you to bring your great communication skills, your knowledge and experience of working in the PFI sector, and your ability to work as part of a team as well as under your own initiative with you when you join us.

Due to the nature of this position, you should have a full driving licence, be happy travelling to different sites, and be able to participate in the on-call rota system covering out of hours and weekends.
