Bolton NHS Foundation Trust are recruiting a Consultant for Stroke Medicine.

You will have a demonstrable track record of successful delivery of Stroke services with high quality patient outcomes.

Bolton has a 24 bedded Acute Stroke Unit and delivers a Monday to Friday out- patient service for Stroke and TIA referrals. You will be an integral part of the Unit supported by a full MDT including stroke specialist nurses, therapists, a clinical neuropsychologist and a Stroke Co-ordinator. The Unit also has an established combined Early Supported Discharge and Community Stroke Team.

You will be fully registered with the General Medical Council and be included on the Specialist Register (or a UK SpR within 6 months of CCT date at interview).

You will have the opportunity to join the weekend on-call rota (1 in 7) at Salford Hyper Acute Stoke Unit to enable you to maintain your skills with thrombolysis and thrombectomy. There will be opportunity to support weekend TIA clinics as 7 day clinics are established at Salford with support from some of the district consultants for the Salford, Bolton and Wigan sector.

Requests to work additional PAs will also be considered and a job plan will be discussed and agreed with you before commencement.
