Inverclyde Royal Hospital/Royal Alexandra HospitalApplications are invited for a Consultant Haematologist post for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GG&C), based at Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH), Paisley with support to Inverclyde Royal Hospital (IRH), Greenock. We are looking for a motivated individual to join the team of 28 Haematology consultants in Greater Glasgow & Clyde.The successful applicant will be based at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley, and will help support laboratory and clinical services across the Clyde region. They will be part of a team of 7 consultants working across Clyde in busy hospitals to meet day case, outpatient, inpatient, consultative and laboratory commitments. The successful applicant will be involved in the on-going development of Clinical & Laboratory Haematology services for GG&C and will have the opportunity of developing a special interest commensurate with the needs of the service. The on-call within the department will be 1 in 7 with this post.Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once CESR is awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.The job is offered as a full-time post on a 10 PA basis but applications will be considered from those wishing to work less than full-time. Up to 2 EPA’s may be available to undertake additional outpatient and/or procedure sessions or management activity.Additional Non DCC (up to 2 PA’s in total – Inclusive of 1 core SPA plus 1 additional non DCC can be negotiated and agreed between the successful candidate and Management depending on the time required to support professional activities and the needs of the service.All newly qualified Consultants are initially offered a minimum of 1 Core Supporting Professional Activity (SPA) which includes CPD, audit, clinical governance, appraisal, revalidation, job planning and management meetings.
