Main duties of the job

Clinical Child Psychologists in North Wales are integrated within multidisciplinary teams delivering services in four main specialisms – Learning Disability, Neurodevelopment, Physical Health Conditions and Child and Adolescent Mental Health. Each post holder will lead across the region on one or two themes linked to specialisms.

You will be required to:

Work autonomously in accordance with BPS Code of Conduct, Ethical Principles and Guidelines 2004, and HCPC

In consultation with the Head of Psychology Services, take delegated responsibility for the professional leadership, planning, systematic provision and review of Child Psychology Services across the Integrated Health Community (IHC)

Be responsible for the professional leadership and management of clinical psychologists, assistant psychologists and identified psychological therapists within Children’s Services in the IHC

Establish ways in which broad clinical and professional policies should be interpreted, and be accountable for own professional actions

In collaboration with the Head of Psychology Services, devise, develop, interpret and implement discrete policies and service developments as required for the Child Psychology Services for the three IHCs

In collaboration, develop psychological interventions and therapies provision and ensure clinical governance processes are in place and implemented in the IHC
