Job description

The Consultant partners with leaders in in our CEO and Board assessment and development practices to ensure that projects are planned and executed in a manner that meets client and internal expectations. This Consultant will be dedicated to management and delivery of CEO, Board, and senior executive succession solutions, interacting with clients on high stakes, complex, global, multi-phase engagements. They will be a part of a tight team that works with clients and collaborates internal partners at the most senior level.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Regularly interfaces with senior level (often C-Level) participants and board members, providing “white glove service” throughout project delivery. Provides onsite coordination and support where appropriate.
  • Coordinate internal project teams to ensure there is a common understanding of project purpose, scope, roles, timeline and expected deliverables; regularly communicate with project teams on ongoing activities and require actions.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through seamless delivery of solutions to clients. Assure professional client interactions, acting as brand champion.
  • Demonstrate and convey, through a consistent professional presence and demeanor, polish, composure, confidence, and reassurance to internal teams and to clients.
  • Create greater consistency and empowerment for those who serve our highest profile clients. Contribute to the internal community to create connection, promote learning, and empower others to feel confident in implementing (and enhancing) consistent best practice in Board and C-level work.


Primary Duties


  • Serve as primary point of contact for client information, updates, delivery, issue resolution and data tracking.
  • Manage scope to ensure delivery against desired project outcomes, deadlines and budget, Monitor, mitigate, and surface issues and risks as needed.
  • Ensure projects are staffed appropriately, including onboarding and transitions, and that team members have the tools and resources they need for delivery.
  • Takes active role in ensuring quality delivery, such as reviewing all client-facing documents for accuracy and consistency.
  • Flexible and adaptable to needs team members and clients, including working and being responsive outside of regular working hours, especially for Board and C-Level clients.
  • Create project plans, manage project schedules, and develop quality management plans.
  • Schedule and coordinate internal and external meetings that balance consensus building with decision-making; document and communicate outcomes/actions.
  • Launches tools and assessments and troubleshoot with team and clients as needed.
  • Manage end-to-end project lifecycle, including initiation and setup, input for SAP, entry of delivery data into internal systems, handoff of delivery data to other functions, execution to invoicing, financial tracking, and closing out when complete.
  • Monitor project forecasting and revenue margins, track and escalate issues, propose mitigation solutions, and manage revenue margin improvement plans.
  • Manage vendors and external contractors, including procurement and contract management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to understand client talent issues and overall business context; manage project delivery with that in mind.
  • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback in a strong, 360-degree performance culture; appropriately and accurately apply comments and feedback.
  • Ability to influence people and resources to ensure project teams deliver consistently high-quality services to our clients.
  • Business skills and aptitude to understand the components of and run a fiscally successful project.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with cross-functional, remote teams, and highly diverse teams at all levels of the organization, both internally and with clients.
  • Exceptional ownership and follow-through with high attention to detail and ability to understand the big picture.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Project Management Professional certification (PMP) or equivalent certification applied outside of IT settings is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in project or account management with an understanding of business and effective management practices.
  • Substantial experience successfully managing large, complex projects. Experience with global project management preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint with the ability to learn complex internal software programs and systems. Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Ideal candidate has experience in working in a training or consulting firm whose focus is people performance improvement.
  • Ability to travel domestically/internationally as needed. (Occasional travel required. Less than 10% expected.)
