We are currently recruiting for long term career professionals, with an initial assignment supporting Telecommunications projects across the UK. Bechtel has been selected as a Delivery Partner on a £4 Billion programme to bring high speed internet connectivity to communities. The core focus is to deploy next generation fibre infrastructure across the public sector, businesses, mobile operators, and homes. These projects are key to improving connectivity for millions of people and boosting economic productivity in the long-term.

Position Summary

We’re looking for a determined Construction Manager to own project builds, meet challenging targets and achieve KPIs, all to release Ready for Service homes that meet our client’s quality standards. You’ll also be using your communication skills to support your city team in their growth, encouraging them to excel. The position reports to the Senior Construction Manager for the area.

Typical Responsibilities
  • Manages the client team and works collaboratively with the Contractor, to lead the delivery, coordination and control of several multi-disciplinary working fronts within a city or cities including accountability for safety, quality, cost, schedule and overall productivity and handover to Operations & Maintenance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Highways and collaborate with the Senior Construction Manager on overall council engagement
  • Manage the operational relationships with all build partners and put in place monitoring
  • Become the driving force behind innovative solutions for problems escalated by our Build Partners
  • Champion excellence in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
  • Find ways to streamline our processes and discover new ways of being more efficient
  • Acts as delegated authority for the Senior Construction Manager in the administration of contracts
Desired Skills And Qualifications

You’ll have experience managing Contract Partners, Capital Budgets, Construction, and ideally, Fibre Networks. You’re a proven leader and motivator, able to progress people and communicate across all levels of our business. You’ll represent our business in everything you do, so you’ll share our passion for connecting cities.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (or international equivalent) and relevant experience which demonstrated depth of knowledge appropriate to the role such as:.
Recognized as advanced contributor with specialized skill set.

Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
  • Civil Engineering experience
  • Fibre Optic experience
  • New Roads & Street Works Act (NRSWA) Supervisor Certification, Units 1, 10-16
  • Understanding of UK HSE and CDM regulations especially in relation to working in locations that interface closely with the public
  • Experience in a similar local-market driven business
  • Experience of Customer Relationship Management systems such as Salesforce
  • A full clean driving licence valid in the UK
