Job Description


If you are looking to broaden your industry experience and progress your career within project management and construction, we are seeking experienced Construction / Project Managers looking to develop their career into a senior position, based in the Inverness area. Working on a range of industry leading infrastructure projects, we will support you in finding the right role within transportation, utilities and highways within our client base.

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

  • To lead Project Management Commission, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery, often with respect to large or complex projects.
  • To act as the key, day to day Client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Construction Management, to include:

  • Construction planning of Project requirements through the whole lifecycle
  • Overall planning for and the ongoing management of quality, safety, health and environment issues
  • Building, management and leadership of PM teams to execute the delivery of the Project
  • Key stakeholder management and coordination of 3rd party interfaces
  • Technical management of design, procurement, implementation and close-out in accordance with the programme
  • Monitoring and managing Project schedule including monthly meetings
  • Managing the flow of project information between the team, Client and Main Contractor, through regular meetings and contract management system
  • Co-ordination and management of Main Contractors including engagement, planning and schedule.
  • Assist Client in defining project requirements
  • Facilitate and lead value management and value engineering exercises
  • Manage Contract Management System including raising & assessing CEs/EWs as per NEC
  • Manage Project Risks including chairing RR and technical meetings
  • Key building relationships and contacts with all Project related personnel

Qualifications


KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

A Senior Project Manager will in part be judged by the extent to which:

  • Projects are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently, on time and to budget
  • Project delivery meets the client’s objectives and is in line with the conditions of appointment
  • The project team is led effectively
  • Strong relationships are developed with clients and members of the cross-functional team
  • General line management responsibilities (where appropriate) are effectively discharged
  • Business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross- selling opportunities, are identified and acted upon
  • The internal financial status of all projects is effectively monitored
  • Key information and data is effectively cascaded and appropriately retained

Qualifications

  • Candidates will ideally be degree qualified (Civil Engineering)
  • Experience on large scheme projects (£100m plus) at CM /PM level
  • NEC: ECC Project Manager accreditation
  • Preferred if chartered/qualified with ICE, APM, RICS etc
  • SMSTS
