JOB SUMMARY

To supervise the operation of the Concierge desk. Concierge involving Doormen and Luggage Porters. To assist our guests efficiently, courteously and professionally in all Concierges related functions.

To maintain Marriott’s high standard of hospitality at all times.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience:

  • Previous experience working within a Concierge environment preferred but not essential

SPECIFIC DUTIES

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

  • Prepare yourself for your daily shift by ensuring that all information is passed on between the concierge on duty and day prior.
  • Ensure best possible two-way communication with associates and managers: striving to keep associate morale high. Motivate and provide a working environment in which associates are productive.
  • Absorb information from colleagues and various resources pertinent to the role of Concierge
  • Perform any reasonable request as directed by management.
  • Handle any guest problems or complaints in a professional and hospitable manner. Encourage the associates to empower themselves. Ensure complaints are tracked and in line with Guest Voice programmes.
  • Understand the Hotel’s fire and safety procedures. To undergo training in all fire and security measures every quarter. Ensure fire procedures are understood and training attended by all concierge associates.
  • Prepare and post work schedules as directed by Head Concierge.
  • Be a mentor to new hires, support and encourage their learning.
  • Handling of guest messages
  • Handling of guest mail and packages
  • Information on local activities
  • Storage of luggage
  • Confirming flight tickets
  • Arranging transportation
  • Obtaining theatre tickets and other forms of entertainment
  • Arranging sightseeing trips.
  • Maintain all logbooks.
  • Be knowledgeable about the hotels dining option and be active in supporting them.

Ensure the immaculate appearance of lobby and Concierge Desk at all times
