The Compliance Officer has responsibility for all compliance activities of CloudPay Treasury Services Ltd. (CTS), with a particular focus on those activities needed to ensure ongoing compliance with UK FCA eMoney Institution regulations. Scope of compliance includes:
  • All FCA regulations applicable to CTS as an eMoney Institution
  • Anti-Money laundering & Anti-terrorist funding activities
  • Data Protection
  • CloudPay Group and CTS specific policies
  • ISO27001 and SSAE18/ISAE3402 certification
  • Risk management & policy framework

The Compliance Officer will act as Data Protection Officer (DPO) and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for CloudPay Treasury Services Ltd.

The Compliance Officer reports to, and takes direction from, the Strategic Initiatives Director Treasury.

Attributes and experience required:
  • Demonstrable track record working within a similar role and or/ held responsibility as a Compliance Head (or equivalent) in a UK FCA regulated eMoney Institution.
  • Have good working knowledge of FCA requirements.
  • Have experience working with customer facing and revenue generating teams
  • Have experience working within an international business
  • Have experience working with cross functional teams and be adaptable to changing work priorities
  • Work well under pressure, show initiative, enthusiasm and a problem-solving approach to new challenges
  • Understand the difference between urgency and priority, and be able to plan accordingly
  • Be able to translate complex policy & regulatory obligations into simple, tangible, practical ideas
  • Be comfortable interacting with senior leaders, regulators and stakeholders

Daily Duties and Main Responsibilities will include:
  • Act as an EMD individual involved in the management of CTS.
  • Acts as Data Protection Officer (DPO) for CTS.
  • Acts as Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for CTS.
  • Reporting to CTS Board of Directors and, where appropriate, to CloudPay Group Director of Business Assurance on all compliance matters.
  • Maintain CTS risk assessments.
  • Develop, manage, and obtain appropriate approvals for policies and decisions in relation to compliance across CTS.
  • Develop and oversee performance of a program of internal audit activity.
  • Proactive identification of potential changes in the legal and regulatory framework within which CTS operates; timely recommendation of actions needed in response if applicable.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge and expertise on core business activities and assist in the analysis of proposed business initiatives from a risk based regulatory perspective. Advise & work with CTS Product owners to ensure compliance with FCA requirements.
  • Develop and maintain an open and positive relationship with external regulators and ensure all regulatory reporting requirements are met.
  • Relationship management and liaison with internal (including CloudPay Group) and external parties as necessary (auditors, law enforcement, FCA and other regulators, banking suppliers, lawyers & other relevant parties).
  • Perform regulatory reporting to the FCA and other relevant authorities.
  • Oversee the handling of regulatory complaints from UK customers.
  • Maintains systems and procedural excellence through regular monitoring, effective root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for making decisions in relation to compliance policy exceptions and issue escalation.
