Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Food Safety professional to join our team based out of London Gatwick. The Field Field Compliance Manager will provide dedicated support to London Gatwick, Bristol, London Luton and London Dark Kitchens. In this role you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our Group Food Safety Standard (ISO22000), plus planning and facilitating internal and external audits. Your analytical and communication skills are key to success. As and where required, you may be asked to support the wider UKI business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work proactively with the unit management to ensure compliance is met and maintained.
  • Implementation of EHS&S compliance standards within the business and ensure a minimum of legal, company and customer compliance standards, aims and objectives.
  • Audit EHS, Security and Food Safety compliance
  • Ensure that employees and managers are trained in EHS&S compliance and associated topics.
  • Conduct investigations into customer complaints, accidents and insurance claims etc. and develop and implement corrective/preventive actions
  • Conduct risk assessments to include H&S, Food Safety and Environmental
  • Analyse results and highlight trends to identify problem areas to enable informed and effective decision making.
  • Communicate and provide supporting data and analysis to all levels of the business ensuring that the dissemination of information is appropriate, factual and timely to support a positive and active decision-making process.
  • Liaising both internally and externally with legal departments, legislative authorities, third parties and customers
  • Producing and providing reports to Corporate, UK & Ireland & Unit Management.
  • Supporting unit activities and facilitating a best practice approach to problem solving and improvement initiatives
  • Support commercial departments with technical input for customer tenders and visits

Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in an Environmental, Health & Safety, Food Safety or related discipline.

Work Experience:
  • Relevant work experience in a similar role
  • Background experience within the aviation / airport industry and/or food industry is preferred, particularly in one of the following: Food Safety, Health & Safety, Environment or Aviation Security
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety or Environment (desirable)
  • Good understanding of UK legislation in relation to Food Safety and/or Health & Safety
  • A background in the formulation of strategy and implementation of safety management systems.
  • An experienced auditor ideally with related qualification (e.g. ISO / IRCA / BRC).

Skills & Knowledge:
  • Ability to build relations and manage diverse teams
  • Ability to work efficiently using own initiative to resolve issues
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales, prioritising as appropriate
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to compile and present management reports
  • Good understanding of EU Directive and UK Legislation
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Applications
  • Minimum of Health & Safety Management Certificate (NEBOSH or Equivalent)
  • Must demonstrate integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times
  • Proactive and positive/flexible attitude
  • Must have a valid UK Driving License
