Communications Support Operator – 999 Emergency Control

Full Time - 37.5 hours per week. Shift Rota 24/7 (Monday- Sunday)

We have a number of exciting roles available for confident, assertive but approachable individuals. You will be part of a team that dispatches ambulances to emergency situations. Maintaining effective radio communications with our crews and providing clerical support to the 999 Dispatch area. The role provides the opportunity to make a real difference to patients and their families.

What we need from you:

  • Have 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grades A-C (including English)
  • Have first class customer service skills
  • Be a good communicator
  • Be able to work calmly and under pressure
  • Be computer literate including in MS Office packages

We are looking for committed and caring people to work on a 24/7 shift basis primarily in our Newcastle Emergency Control room, however, part of your rota will involve you working from our secondary Control Room in Hebburn, You will be required to work bank /public holidays (includes Christmas Day and New Year’s Day) as these are our busiest periods.
